Does your TV do audio out via optical?

Maybe look for an HDMI switch with optical out?
In the MiBox3 you will need a mini toslink to toslink cable. The Amazon Basics one is enough. If you already have a toslink cable, just buy the mini toslink adapter.
I've used a Shield with a Tendak HDMI to HDMI and Optical splitter for over a year for the same purpose and it's worked perfectly. I send the optical signal to my receiver and the the HDMI out to the TV. Passthrough for everything that optical is capable of (which is less these days) has always worked as well as sending PCM stereo.
You can try something like this . Then you can get whichever unit you want. I recommend the Shield.

None of the Android TV devices listed in the sidebar have optical out.
MiBox has optical out, but I could never get surround working, it always output in stereo only.
