by akumanara

I just went from Android 6 to this beta.

If you need any info regarding flash instructions or you have any other question hit me up in the comments.

Cheers.

Here is the link to download: https://www.idrive.com/idrive/sh/sh?k=i9k5m2z0m0

PS. I saw the link on XDA here https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-stick--console-computers/amlogic/xiaomi-mdz-16-ab-nougat-beta-build-1035-t3677769

Working: HDR on Netflix app, HDMI CEC

Not Working: Youtube App seems to have problems playing videos using VP9 codec. (most of them)

Update I went back to (flashed) the previous Beta and youtube is working again.

After uninstalling YouTube updates and updating it to its newer version, I can confirm that it's working, at least in 1080p ( I don't have a 4k TV).

Any known issues? Or can you add the link to the XDA thread you got this from?

Balloon_Twister

at las...... breaks Youtube.

Fantastins

7.0? If so you can downgrade to the old leaked beta if you don't like this one... Guess choose between YouTube and Netflix HDR.

OP, did you run into general Netflix issues with the MiBox like a bunch of us on here? I get some random errors with Netflix every now and then and even though Xiamoi says its a Netflix issue, I feel like it's Xiamoi's doing >.<

Not Working : Side loaded Amazon Video. The app starts but won't Stream

After installing this beta update, will the July update still show up?

pjgowtham

Youtube videos does not work. Only the audio works.

I have connected tv box to my denon avr. It says my tv does not support hdcp 2.2. It worked on the marshmellow update though.

Thank you op

Seems someone in the xda forum posted a direct link From Google servers.. what are the chances that one is different?

JoaozaoS

How were you able to navigate through the recovery from the previous beta?

SMELTN

does this fix the random audio stutter that sometimes happens? Especially notice it in Netflix

SMELTN

so your saying the default MiBox remote does NOT work with this beta though>?

Going from the main XDA thread for the Mi Box, the problem appears to be related to the DRM-signing for the YouTube app?

People are reporting that the Kodi plugin for YouTube works fine, and that OGYouTube is also fine.

So it's probably a simple fix from Xiaomi or Google, but that seems to be a possible workaround in the mean time. I believe OGYouTube can be made the default player of YouTube links, so it can be tied back to the voice search functionality of Android TV Launcher if people so wish.

Only trick is that neither of these methods can be dropped into app section of the launcher by default (OGYouTube can be dropped in via sideload launcher).

Thanks for the link! Haven't seen a download link for one since February which I'm still running. I'll give this a shot.

EDIT: nevermind looks like people are having YouTube, Amazon, etc. problems. I'll hold off :)

I have wifi disconnecting frequently on the update of april. It's kind of annoying and the main reason why I regret having updated my box. When I'm watching a movie on my network harddrive, every 10 to 30 minutes it stops the playback and put me back in the files list. Do you know if this build has the same problem regarding wifi ?

I hope you can help me, I have a mi box with the 1028 build and if I connect it into the hdmi-in of my Pioneer vsx 330 and then I run another hdmi cable from the hdmi-out of the av receiver to my projector , I get no video. The only thing I can see is the menu of the receiver displayed on the screen and nothing else. I tried to change ports and added a blu ray player and another Tv box to the receiver and they all are displayed on the screen. Besides, If (with the hdmi cable connected) I replug the power cable into the mibox, after some seconds the splash screen of the mibox appears (the one before android TV logo) and then nothing else happens (even thought I know that the box works correctly). Do you know why? The av receiver is new and works with other inputs, and I know that I could run and hdmi cable from the TV box to the projector for the video and a spdif cable from the box to the receiver for the audio, but I wonder if it's a software (nougat build) or hardware problem of the mi box and if I can solve it with a downgrade to marshamllaow. Thanks in advance!
