I got the latest experience update on the shield tv 2017 and after that I got notified that there was new firmware for the remote.
Well first it took ages to get to the end, and after that it said that it failed to update the firmware. However the remote was still working fine so I carried along with using it.
However when I was ready to turn it off I took a look at the shield accessories page (where you can see your remote and controller) and it said that my remote was not connected?
Well excuse me, apparently my remote that I used to get on that menu was not connected.
In the end however all it took was to plug it into the usb, and then the shield that previously reported that the remote had 1.10 FW and was not connected. Now it said that it indeed was connected and it has 1.16 FW on it.
Just a little bug I think, but still makes me little nervous every time when there is a new firmware update on the accessories, because last time it did almost the same thing. Only difference was that the last time I had to pair the remote with the shield again.
Did you restart before trying to install the remote firmware?
