Any way to get Google Assistant to work without pushing the voice button on the original Shield?

You would either have to buy the new version of the game controller or wait for the nvidia spot to be released.
The new controller has a always listening mic.

I'm pretty certain you can hookup a USB mic, although I haven't tried it myself.
