Android box or official AndroidTV? (Eg nVidiaShield)

Ok so, I'm looking at either getting :

  • MINIX neo u9-h or
  • Nvidia Shield Android TV (SATV)

I know that with SATV you're stuck with the official AndroidTV firmware (as far as I know).

Problem is, I do quite like the AndroidTV UI, but also very much like the broad application of full Android.

--with the MINIX boxes (u9-h), does anyone know if it's possible to dual-boot that system? --or... Is there any fully decent replica of the official AndroidTV in the form of a launcher (which I can run from the standard Android box)? (that is to say, lets you use voice search, has recommendations etc etc)

----ive seen HAL launcher, not quite good enough IMO.

Stick with Android TV

You won't get Netflix HD on any non android TV boxes.

That alone is worth it

Don't know if it's any good though
