This is a big feature that I used a lot on my HTPC. Now that AppleTV has one I think it might be in the pipes for ATV?

This is a byproduct of the A10x Fusion SoC being in the new Apple TV, so unless nVidia update the Shield SoC or someone puts a Snapdragon 835 in a TV device, the answer is no for now.
