Xiaomi Mi Box with no working optical out to soundbar

Hi all,

I am trying to listen any kind of sound from my Xiaomi with Android M, fully updated, but as soon as i chose optical in the menu, it mutes.

I have tried with HDMI and the sound works, i have tried my soundbar with the Optical Audio out from my TV and it works. However, when trying with Mi Box's mini-optical cable, i get no sound.

It doesnt work in the internal menus, Youtube, Netflix, i think the problem is in the OS, but i dont know what else to do

Any suggestion ? I have search on internet and it seems like a many people has this bug.

Hello:

  1. did you try going to settings -> sounds -> digital sounds and select SPDIF?

  2. Does the TV has dolby digital plus support on HDMI ports?

You may need to change to optical input on the sound bar because it's still trying to play what's on HDMI input.

Depending on the sound bar you have have to disconnect other inputs completely.

That's why people connect the optical from the tv to the sound bar instead.
