i just purchased an hdhomerun prime and hooked up a cable card to it and now when i scan for channels with live channels app it only detects and tunes in channels from the prime and not both the connect and prime so instead of having 7 tuners it only gives me 3 anyone know how to fix this issue or have any tips or tricks to get GLC app to show ota tuner along side the prime
I've used both the built in network tuners source and HDHomeRun app and have had pretty good luck with both. If you run a surround sound setup you may want to experiment with both sources and monitor what format is being sent. Mine's been hit or miss on my Nexus Player and Sony Bravia when it comes to getting an appropriate bitstream going. For whatever reason on my Bravia it is sending a 2 channel PCM downmix when using the Network Tuners option (despite it requiring you to turn on the surround sound option to work).
Network tuners will support the built in DVR and timeshift function of Live Channels. Doesn't look like the HDHR app has enabled that yet (outside of their own DVR service). You could also look into running a Plex server for DVR functionality. It is pretty solid on that front.
Customizing channel lists is also there in the Live Channels app regardless of tuner and 'Just Works(tm)'. You should see that on the same menu as the Setup Sources option.
