How to mirror pixel on mi box?

by hotdogworrior

Hello All

I can't for the life of me figure out how to mirror my Google pixel screen to my Mi Box.

I've read to use Miracast but that doesn't seem to be available in the play store. I installed Airscreen but that doesn't work

What Im looking to do is mirror or cast if possible video from HGTV.ca

Is this possible?

You don't need anything extra, casting is built into the OS. Open the Settings app, go to Connected Devices and tap on Cast. You can also add a Cast quick settings tile to the notification shade.

The Miracast protocol for mirroring is disabled on Pixel. Google wants you to use the built-in Google Cast feature instead.

Miracast is pretty much for Samsung, Amazon, and Microsoft devices. It only does mirroring. Google Cast can handle mirroring as well as "casting" from apps like through Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc. so that your phone doesn't have to be on and draining battery. The phone doesn't pull down the stream and then repackage that up to mirror on another display. Casting just says "hey they wanna watch this, you pull down the stream instead" and then your phone is free to do other stuff.

As far as the mobile version of Chrome and casting support for certain websites, that might be a better question to ask.
