Anyone having issues with sideloaded Assistant on Mi Box?

Question

My two obvious gripes are:

Mic long press does nothing in-app
Mic press does nothing once assistant returns its first result

So essentially I can't use assistant in-app, and when I can use assistant, I can't ask any follow up questions. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

For reference, I'm running build 1028 of the Nougat Beta.

How’d you get it to install.  I get a message when installing that the file is corrupted.  I’m running the nougat beta too. How did you get the mi box to install it?  Which file did you use?

To ask follow up questions you need to long press the microphone button, tapping it does nothing.
