Just installed Kodi on my invidia shield and I can't get to remove a sound icon in the top center of the screen. Once I exit the app it goes away but comes back on when I get on Kodi. Any recommendations?

It's your volume level indicator within Kodi.
You hit one of the function keys (or commands?) on whatever keyboard or remote you're using.
F8 mute/unmute (makes the circle disappear when on screen)
F9 volume down
F10 volume up
While playing a video, bring up the OSD and go to the sound settings, change the volume to 100%
Could be ES file explorer overlaying an icon on top of Kodi again, it's a fairly common issue that has nothing to do with Kodi.
Where did you get he Kodi from? You should just use the one on the google App Store which is at 17.4. I don’t get that within Kodi on my shield
