Well guys, after almost a year with the mi box I made the switch to shield. I updated to the nougat beta and it broke my Vue app. This pushed me to get the shield as I'm a Vue subscriber. I can say with out a doubt this is a pretty big upgrade. It feels at least twice as fast and much more responsive. Just the loading of the channel guide in VUE app is instant and with the mi box it was pretty delayed and laggy. Same with downloading apps from Google store. This happens in an instant. Im probably going to download a Rom or two and try some games next. Im also looking forward to using a device that gets updates. TLDR; if youre on the fence of upgrading mi box to the shield do it.
This thread is just laughable.
Comparing a $69 device running buggy leaked Nougat Beta Firmware to one nearly 3x the price with far more mature Nougat Firmware.
Blind Freddy could see a Shield is going to be faster and have superior performance.
I could compared a Intel machine for 3x the Shield's price and it would whip the Shield's ass for local media video playback vs the relatively buggy Android Firmware the Shield is currently using - but seriously what's the point ?
In the Android world you get what you pay for and yes the Shield is going to be a better machine because of that. Just don't mention the numerous ongoing remote problems or that bullshit touch sensitive mini remote design that can easily be accidentally activated.
