What the hell does storage space have to do with the performance of the Wifi chip inside the Mi Box? Look at your Wifi network instead. What router do you have? What frequency do you connect at? What channel do you use? What does your wireless neighborhood look like when you scan it using apps like Wifi Analyzer?
Your wifi is at fault. Fix it.
Not sure. When I first got the Mi Box I went overboard on apps and didn't realize how much Kodi/SPMC can grow in size. I had about 1 point something gigs left and wifi worked fine.
Are you on the beta? Maybe something changed from 6 to 7? I don't have the beta, have hardwired now, and external flash (plus only the apps I use)... so cant speak for to that possible issue anymore.
my mi box only have 840mb of storage left and wifi is still working fine. I'm on 5Ghz wireless AC and didn't encounter any issues with wifi.
It's quite clear there must be external suspect dastardly forces at work.
I would look at the Goat / Cat / My Little Pony Simulator games very closely as they must be robbing precious WiFi resources.
If you have a cat put it outside for the night, who knows what your feline friend is uploading in the Wee hours of the morning and stressing out your WiFi.
Do you wake up and find your front door open and Hoof marks on the carpet - that will be the neighbourhood Goat hammering your WiFi connection with the Goat Simulator.
And really you need to stop installing Fetish - MyLittlePony games - anyone could see that was bound to cause problems sooner rather than later ;-)

Best guess is your WiFi is the problem and you are finding it easier to blame the Mi Box.
