[Shield TV] Anyone else having CEC issues lately?

Nothing has changed in my setup in the last 6 months and it's always worked perfectly as far as CEC goes. Turn TV on, Shield comes on, sound bar comes on. A few weeks ago the Shield stopped turning on with the TV. The only way to turn it on was with the power button or the Shield remote.

Then I got a software update for the Shield and it now if will turn on if I turn the TV on and switch inputs, then switch back to the input the Shield is on. So that's better than it was, but still not right.

Now what has been happening is sometimes I do this and I cannot control the Shield via CEC or when I switch to that input the Shield will turn on but I will have no video until I manually turn the Shield off and back on.

TV is last year's Vizio and the sound bar is a few years old LG, the Shield is a first gen Shield.

Just curious if anyone is having issues like these, not sure if it's the TV or the Shield that is causing issues.

Cec is a mess.

Fully unplug everything, wait a few seconds. Plug back in. Sometimes CEC gets jacked and you have to reset. Anytime I've had CEC issues, a full cold reboot of the TV fixed it.

I'm having similar issues, yeah. My SHIELD won't power on when switching to it's input all the time. It does power on when the TV turns on while already set to it's input though.

I had this issue a while ago before the update, but like the other poster said I fully powered everything off (unplugged from wall, push power to drain capacitors)

I had loads of issues with my Shield, 2016 Vizio M series tv and a Yamaha soundbar (not sure how old). Everything turned on and off as it should but signal between TV & Shield would continuously get cut off every few seconds and then reconnect. The only fix was to either restart Shield or sometimes play a video on Netflix which would do something that would reset the signal.

But thankfully since the most recent update I haven't experience the issue at all. Things are finally just working.

Your issue sounds like there might be more than one thing trying to CEC control others. I think at one point I went through everything CEC setting combination between my TV, Shield and soundbar. After each one tried to see if the behavior was better. Not sure if you need to do the same.

My SHIELD keeps ransacking my TV whenever I'm playing switch.

my shield used to turn on my tv, a long time ago, it will turn tv and soundbar off though

Nope Power down everything unplug it. should reset things
