Last year I bought a "JUSTOP® MXG 4K Android 6.0 TV Box Ultra HD Smart TV Player Quad Core Amlogic S905X Built-in 802.11n WI-FI (MXG)"
I've not updated it since and various apps are stopping working - esp BBC IPlayer.
I've looked for various MXG firmware but not found anything obvious although I did come across MXQ firmware, but I'm not sure if that'd work. So I was wondering if anyone could point me to the appropriate firmware I'll be able to use.

You probably won't get any help here since your device is not actually running the "Android TV" OS, which is what this subreddit is for.
You just have a box that puts the Android phone/tablet OS on your TV.
Look on the right side. Those five devices are what we talk about here. That's it. If you don't have any of those five devices, this subreddit is not for you.
That's an Android box. It doesn't run Android TV . Your best bet is to contact the company that makes the device, so good luck with that. This is why we don't recommend Chinese junk boxes. You're dealing with back alley bootleggers instead of legit OEMs like ASUS, NVIDIA, Xiaomi, Sony, or Sharp.
