question about androidtv's cast ability

so with a chromecast, when you cast a desktop tab and full-screen a video, it doesn't mirror the video any more but sends it directly to the chromecast and the video stops playing on the desktop. the quality is much better on tv.

so i know that this feature does NOT work on the 6.0 mibox. i was curious if it worked on nexus player, shield tv, or mi box 7.0 beta.

It works for mirroring my phone and tablet just fine. Should be fine for a desktop too.

Mi Box Nougat 7.0 beta 1028 does not have the colorspace mirroring problem that I saw on previous Marshmallow when Chromecasting video from a Chrome tab.

Even that may have been fixed in recent Marshmallow updates.

Doesn't work on the Shield as far as I can tell.

I followed the instructions on that link.
I went to chrome://flags/#media-remoting in my desktop browser, enabled the function, restarted the browser and then cast a desktop tab with a random video from Vimeo.com. When I made it full screen it just kept mirroring on both devices.

It's possible this feature could be added in a future update though. I don't see why not.
