Mi box questions netflix and stuff

Hi i had yesterday. Used for a few hours. It is a great buy.

I would like to ask a few questions to those who owned mi box. Or similar.

I have a problem with netflix app which volume control does not work. Youtube and kodi seems to use the volume control. But for netflix seems to go full volume even if android is muted. Is it something in the settings or the tv?

How can i turn on the box without the original remote? Can i do it via cec ? I got the remote working via cec but for controls only.

Whats the best android control app :] android tv kinda sucs

Ps. Installed updates around 400 mb and it now says up to date. Also updated the apps.

When you are receiving digital audio from netflix, the Mi Box volume control will not work. It only works on analog audio. This is not just a Mi Box thing. This happens on all media players basically.

I use my receiver volume when that happens.

You can buy a Harmony remote to turn it on. You don't need bluetooth. Direct line of sight remotes work just as good as the bluetooth one.

In Netflix when a movie is playing select Audio options and select the Audio option that is NOT 5.1

OR

In Android Settings > Sounds > Digital Sounds > Select PCM.

Audio passthrough from Netflix to your audio receiver will then switch to PCM and the Mi Box can control Audio volume.

PCM is still only 2 channel tho, right? If you have surround sound, you'll lose out.
