[Discussion] Future of Second Screen

by brophen

With Android Oreo, Android has a better "understanding" of multiple displays. This includes Chromecast displays as far as I know. In what ways do you think this could be used for Android TV?

Could we have multiple rooms watching the same synced videos via chromecast?

Could we have multiple screen multiplayer (instead of splitscreen) using chromecast (or maybe future Android TVs with multiple outputs?)

Thoughts?

I'm more concerned what happens with the first screen. There is so much more that can be done with it, with a strong assistant. Can help you in many ways, rather than just for media consumption at end of day when you are tired and what to lose 50 i.q. points.

I think this functionality is going to be more applicable for Chromebooks as ChromeOS and Android finally merge. I don't see a lot of applications for Android TV unless you're using the box as a PC-like device.
