Got corruption error when installing old versions of Kodi

by acm

I just purchased an Nvidia Shield TV recently. The latest version of Kodi has a bug that I find really annoying, so I wanted to revert to an older version. I tried to install Kodi v14.1 and v14.2 on my Shield, but they failed to install because the Shield said the packages are corrupted. I got the packages from APK Mirror .

These are the packages I tried:

  • org.xbmc.kodi-14.1-141000-minAPI14.apk

  • org.xbmc.kodi-14.2-142000-minAPI14.apk

Anyone know what's going on here, and if there's anything I can do? I guess I naively assumed old versions would work.

Thanks!

This question is probably better for Kodi forums. With the old versions, does Kodi offer older versions from their website?

You have to completely remove the 'new' version before the 'old' one will install.

There's nothing wrong with the APK files, being they were acquired from APKMirror, unless they were somehow damaged on your end during download..?

So your options are A) delete your Kodi & start from scratch or B) figure out how to backup/restore your settings for after you get the version you want installed.
