My fucking stupid Mi box does. I'm watching a video file and 12 minutes in, it stops as if I turned my PC off.
No kodi. Using Windows 10 native function. Sometimes it shows up on UPnP source, sometimes it does not.

Can you share with SMB instead of UPnP? I'm not very familiar with Windows as a source.
Check your router logs & see if the Mi Box is dropping its internet connection while its performing regular functions (YouTube, etc). Mine always was. I bet that's what's going on.
