Tho, I did purposely update to 17.5 before doing the 6.1 update upon reading of the reported issues; once (6.1) installed I let it idle for about 10 minutes til the (3rd party) remote lag stopped & then cleared system cache & rebooted.
No issues since.
Update to 17.5.1...
You would have found that out had you checked kodi.tv
Remove all your shitty streaming pirating addons. Bet it works.
Get ride of Kodi for movies and download terrarium tv app from the internet (sideload) and for streaming your own stuff use Plex.
Ok found the problem. For those having problems with kodi 17.5 krypton as of now the solution is to uninstall kodi 17.5 and download Kodi-17.4-krypton-arm64-v8a.apk.
This has worked for me.Hope this helps!!!!!
There's a 17.5.1 update out... Play store will not auto update it currently
