I have both a shield TV and a Sony Android TV and when I say listen to Spotify or watch Netflix on either device she starts to try and then states something went wrong. This is super annoying. Any fix?

I use HBO now, Netflix and YouTube TV with my mi box and they all work fine. I usually just say play <show name> from <service> on TV.
I have this same issue. Trying to launch Spotify with my voice always gives me a "something went wrong". It used to work, but hasn't for at least 2 months now. Really annoying and upset over this. Would love if anyone has a fix.
It's the same problem with google assistant.
same issue. Got a Home Mini to cast to my Nexus Player. "Something went wrong."
Spoke to Google and they said they would relay to the Product and Engineering teams... but the Nexus Player is not supported so it seems like BS.
Waste of money unless they fix this.
Are you asking it to play it on "Android TV" OR it's actual device name
I have the same issue with Netflix. I read on here before that it doesn't use the Cast functionality in Android TV when you request a Netflix show, instead it passes it directly to the Netflix app. Which doesn't understand the request. Apparently it's in Netflix's hands, and they need to issue an app update. I'd much rather Google circumvent it and just use the Cast pipeline instead, though.
I like my Google Home/Android TV pairing but it's so frustrating. There are so many weird differences in what I can do in a command from the Home vs on Android TV vs on my phone.
It is the difference between chromecast and chromecast built in with the latter only youtube is supported
I have similar issues with my Sony Android TV. At first, I couldn't get anything to work. Then I set the TV as the default audio and video option for the Google Home. Now video works, but audio still fails with "sorry, something went wrong."
