I'm thinking about buying a usb tuner for my shield, in your experience what's the best option if i'm living in europe? Ideally the tuner should support the live channels app. Any recommendations?

Actually, with the Shield Experience 6.1 update they added support for the Hauppauge WinTV-soloHD. Not sure how well that works as I use the Xbox One Tuner on my Shield TV but it works fine.
Best to get a Network tuner instead like the HDHomerun. There's an app available for android TV and it works perfectly. Integrates with the LiveTV app too. One bonus is you will now be able to watch TV from any device on your network (including your phone)
Can anyone tell me who has a HD Home Run in the UK does it pull through all of the TV listings within live channels including thumbnails?
Also does the DVR function work within live channels?
Recommendation: don't buy one, it's not working. You can have a look in the GeForce forum where this is discussed a lot.
Live channels only support tuners for the American ATSC standard and none for the European DVB-C/T2/S standard.
Currently it is only working with Plex and a monthly fee for the Plex Pass (their name for premium features).
