I have an original 2015 500gb Shield that recently started having issues. The device would randomly turn off using various apps. I wasn't sure if maybe the hard drive was going bad? I tried to wipe the device and restore to original factory setting. During the restore process it stops and says "bad command:" and I'm unable to restore the device. Anybody have any idea's? I was going to just go pickup another Shield unless I'm able to salvage the old device.
Not too sure. I factory reset mine (complete, not fast) last night and it took about 2 hours to do so.
Like you i started having issues - mainly because i kept adding apps, addons within kodi, etc. without cleaning up or deleting old ones. think a good reset is beneficial every now and then
