How to control Nvidia Shield 2017 with ir remote?

So from what I'm seeing the 2017 doesn't have a ir receiver. What are my options?

CEC through your TV would work. No home button though.

I'm using a Flirc (v1). Works very well, it even receives the IR signal plugged into the back of the Shield, so no extension USB wire needed.
