Thinking about buying a shield again..

Hey guys. Owned a shield in like 2014, split with gf, let her keep it. It had the headphones in the remote. I really liked that feature for living with a SO.

I read that only comes with the pro now. Should I get a pro for that functionality? Or can I save myself $100 and get the normal one and bluetooth headphones?

I'm also open to a non shield product, if it's solid with a good remote, as I already have the steam link. But bluetooth earphones are a must.

There is a headphone port on the game controller now. So you'll need to buy 2017 shield tv with the controller. No need to get the pro version.

You can buy the usb headphone remote separately from the Nvidia store. On a different note the Amazon warehouse is selling the 500gb 2015 shield tv pro for around $194 with game controller only no remote, I just picked one up.
