Maybe there's wireless interference. Buy ethernet cable instead maybe.
Try uninstalling all YouTube updates, but don't update it again. Maybe the new version (the "wrapper") is the culprit.
You can try to clear cache in the app (go in app, settings, someplace in there there are two clears, one for watched videos and I believe a cache or something) or through the settings of the Mi Box (Settings, Apps, find then click Youtube, scroll down to clear cache)
1.) visit preferred online retailer.
2.) purchase nvidia shield tv.
3.) throw mibox in garbage.
4.) enjoy youtube in glorious technicolor!
Slow in what way? We watch a lot of YouTube on my mibox, and I've never noticed any slowness.
