I'm thinking of ordering Xiaomi Mi Box 3 as my first TV box. I'd like to use Kodi on it to play movies from an external hard drive plugged directly into the box. I have a 2TB USB powered (no wall plug) Seagate drive. I haven't been able to find much evidence of this being a viable setup. Has anyone here done this? Should I order a powered USB hub while I'm at it?
Not the same brand, but my Mini M8S reads mine, but I've had an issue where every once in a while, it'll just shut down

Don't buy xiaomi mi box 3s international AB,it has not good support if something happens the tv box after you looking everywhere for fix it, the first who looking when you want to buy tv box is the support better buy beelink, zidoo, alfawise etc theses brands has good support and they release updates every two months specifically the zidoo and beelink.
