page is 404 for me atm.
Seems like the device is being sold cheaply for a 4K capable 2GB ram certified Android TV with OTA tuner built in, hopefully it is still usable outside of foxtel ecosystem...
if not, anyone know what are the chances this thing can be modded with a custom android TV rom in the future?
Heavily leaning to Foxtel's own content. Like Fire TV is heavily leaned to Amazon Prime. Wonder if there is a way to disable Foxtel stuff or if it's baked into the operating system.
Question for Australian members.......Can you take a generic DVB-T tuner and use it to its full extent under FREEVIEW for OTA transmissions?
Australian OTA broadcasts conform to the Freeview standards. It references DVB-T as its undelying technology.
Whether there are some elements in Freeview that depart from established DVB-T standards should be discussed by residents of Australia who have knowledge on the subject?
WARNING: I am in USA and have no personal knowledge as to what happens in the land down under. I would encourage someone who has hands-on experience to address this specific issue.
Pretty much waiting until the modders get their hands on this box.
main things that will make me grab one
Netflix gets sucessfully sideloaded and there are no DRM issues.
The original leanback launcher replaces the crappy foxtel one
The OTA tuner works in the live channels app
Another box we can't buy sold by the cable company
No Netflix. No Kodi. Possibly no Plex. Next...
