Is the android tv on this years sony tvs good? I am not interested in gaming, just streaming apps including kodi. I have a shield on our main tv and would like to get a sony for our secondary tv. Would the built in android tv be good enough or will I feel the need to buy another shield or other android tv box?
I like it. It's recently received an update which improved the responsiveness loads and if you disable animations under Developer Options, it flies!
I also like it for the fact that everything just works. Built in Chromecast means I can cast stuff very easily and it also integrates well with my Galaxy S8+, which means screen mirroring is only one swipe away.
Couple that with the fact that Kodi, Netflix, Mobdro and Amazon Video are also very easy to access and you have a winner.
