Any good apps to do a speed test? I have a gigabit internet connection, shield is hard wired over gigabit Ethernet, and the Netflix speed test reports 350M, Xbox One shows 40M down 600M up (wtf lol), but my laptop on the same cable will pull 900M/900M at speedtest.net
Sideload the speedtest app
Your Xbox is only testing the connection to the Live servers. 2 years ago when I first got gigabit service I could test on my Xbox One in the 900Mbps+ range, but that slowly started to fall off to what you see today.
Speedtest.net app and then find a server that gives you the gigabit results. Metronet in Indy and Comcast in Chicago. Also, Miami University in Ohio, but their upload test isn't the highest speeds.
Your Shield TV will do a landscape orientation automatically, just have your mouse and keyboard handy. And a sideload launcher.
I'm looking for some clarification for this also if anyone sees this post 4 months after the fact. I have the docker speedtest applet running on my server, wired Ethernet my Shield only gets 335mbps... tried another router and got the same results almost exactly. i mean 335 is nothing to scoff at but on a 1gbps link....
Install a web browser (e.g. chrome) and visit speed test sites.
