Has anyone paired a FireTV remote to an android tv?

by slashing164

Would it be possible? I currently have a MiBox but like my brother's firetv remote feel and functionality.

Yes, the firetv remotes work great connected to my shield. Ive used both the regular remote and remote with voice. The mic on the remote doesn't work for me unfortunately, but everything else works as you would expect. I even have an app to remap some of the buttons for volume and to open apps. Definitely would recommend.

My dog chewed up my Mi Box remote so we use the Fire TV remote on it now no problem.

RIP remote

I use the Fire Stick remote with my Shield and it works just fine. Only weird thing is in Amazon video, the selection button doesn't work...oddly enough. You can only scroll around. But other than that it works great.

Ive paired both the first generation fire stick remote and the current fire stick remote with alexa. Both worked. Im currently using the fire stick remote with alexa and the mic button does activate google assistant and works the way it should.

I chose the fire stick remote over the shield one because the shield one is garbage. I returned it after a week.

I am using a fire stick Alexa remote (wifi-direct) with my 2015 shield tv. it pairs as a shield accessory. All buttons mostly work (some oddities in certain apps) and the mic works as well, for me at least, YMMV with the mic.

the bluetooth versions should work for any device that take bluetooth inputs

My Nexus player remote is playing up with the while "falling asleep" issue.

Has anyone tried the fire TV remote on the NP?

They are Bluetooth, so it should work.

But I don't think you'd have a good experience. I'd recommend, at least getting Tincore Keymapper and fiddle with it (so you can control the mouse, otherwise, you lose functionality)

I think it won't work
