I am trying out a trial on my PC right now, and it's pretty awesome. All the local channels are available unlike other providers, it's also missing a few networks...if they could solve the app issue and add those missing networks Google would have a winner on their hands...this is coming from someone with the $35 DirecTV now deal.
It has playback issues with the Mi Box. They are working on the fix though.

I don't have a Mi Box so I'm not sure if this will work but you could try side loading the mobile version. I did this on my shield tv before the official Android TV version was released and I read somewhere on Reddit it works on the Mi Box. It worked good but you need a mouse to navigate.
What's not working on it? I'm not noticing anything wrong.
Download an APK from apkmirror and sideload it on. It's programmed with the same code that the Xiaomi Mi Box uses. It should work. Both devices have ARM processors (technically)
The MiBox was one of the best HTPC Kodi boxes I've ever used. Not a single issue and I have 4 each with 4tb usb HDD.
That said I replaced one with a Nvidia Shield so I could use Youtube tv. I like the mibox remote more but that's because the touch volume on the shield isn't my favorite feature
YouTube is really nice on the shield and it's sad the mibox is excluded
