Is there a way to control the volume in Plex and Netflix apps with the Shield remote? I get a message that says the sound is in surround mode, use the TV remote.
Can I change this so I can still passthrough the sound, but use the Shield remote to change the volume? I hate having multiple remotes :)

In audio settings, activate "cec" and "volume command". Then in advance settings , put "suround sound" in "automatic"

Then make the Shield remote control the volume.
You can't adjust bitstream volume. It can only be controlled at your TV or AVR.
Setting the Shield audio to CEC fixed it.
