Not a good enough IPTV app?

by venomo160

I have a m3u list with EPG from my IPTV provider. On the Apple TV, I use iplayTV. It's a great app which creates shortcuts on the top row and you can open channels without even opening the app. On my Shield TV, however, I use Kodi which is not that user-friendly regarding IPTV (number of clicks, etc). I tried tvirl which integrates into live channels on Android. However, saying something like "cnn international" or "bbc world news" opens these channels on YouTube, instead of live TV channels. I also tried Perfect Player, but didn't like the interface. Is Kodi seriously the best thing we can have on Android TV?

It's sad. If tvirl got its shit together and had recording and auto refreshed EPG, people would gladly pay $10+. It would be the perfect integration.

As it stands, perfect player is the best option and that's piss poor integration.

If you’re using voice commands, say something like “Tune to CNN” instead.

I was using GA with live channels, if you say "go to AMC" it would switch to that channel.

Smart IPTV(SIPTV) is the best, i think. But it has one time fee.
