How to install Netflix app on my grandmas android tv?

by imnidades

My grandma bought a smart tv so she can watch Netflix with ease but to her dismay she can't download Netflix on it. The smart TV she bought is Skyworth brand.

We tried going to the browser app in the TV to download Netflix off google play. On google play it says Netflix is already installed but it isn't in the apps menu of the TV.

The only help I found was this thai video

The TV has an "installapk" app. I downloaded Netflix apk on a USB and tried opening the file in the installapk app but it says "There was a problem parsing the package".

The only solutions I find for this error is changing the settings to allow unknown apps to download and I did that already.

Can anyone help me help my grandma fix her smart tv so she can watch Netflix? She brings it up all the time that it's frustrating her.

I have never heard of that brand. Hrm. From what I'm seeing online, this is legit running the Android TV operating system. This TV has it.

Where is she located? What exact model number is it?

Also, if it says it's already installed, then I'm wondering if it's just hiding it from the apps rows. Try using a voice command to launch it by saying "open Netflix"

Go to [Settings] -> [APPS] -> look for Netflix -> click [Open App] button.

Try finding the APK elsewhere, put it on a USB stick and install a file manager like MX Explorer. You'll be able to install it that way.

Edit - Also found this . Don't know if it'll be any use?
