Anyone seen this with their setup?
I have a Sony xbr850e with the plex app installed. Hard wired connection right into my switch connected to my desktop.
If I press fast forward (seek) a few times in a row it kills the playback. A work around is to press it once, wait 3 seconds, press it again, wait, etc but its annoying.
Are you using the Shield as the server? This doesn't happen with mine. I have a server with PMS installed, transcoding is set to "Make my CPU hurt" and I usually download 2k+ resolution files for future proofing so everything gets brought down to 1080.
That does not happen to me. I have a fast server and modern streaming clients (Chromecast 2 and Fire TV 3). I'm guessing that either your server is struggling to keep up or your TV has a slow processor.
I started using Kodi and the official Plex plugin with my Sony Android TV. Seems to play video smoother than the Plex Android app. Might be worth a shot?
Same thing happens to be with the same TV. No other client has this issue. Tested with iOS devices, Xbox and PlayStation. You’ll notice Hulu will crash pretty frequently also.
Is the stream transcoding at the time?
