Amazon is a piece of sh*t company. I sideloaded their Prime Video app a few months ago and I could navigate the app with my Logitech keyboard with mousepad. When I started a video, the app would crash immediately. It could never stream.
The latest update of Prime Video won't even start. It complains its running on an unsupported platform.
Amazon, suck it.
It went to play store for mobile devices.
I wouldn't get my hopes up for Android TV.
My Mi Box has begun aggravating me again. The remote stopped working again last night. Messed with it a bit, but couldn't get it working again and gave up. I see that nVidia Shield is back down to $150.00 at Amazon and Best Buy (save $30). Thinking I should stop at BB on the way home and grab one since I've never really had a problem with my older model Shield.
Are there really only a few people in the world, that got the stv Amazon apk running on mi box? Guess, I just was lucky.. shrugs
If you can find a copy of the Sony Android TV Amazon Video APK (current version should be 4.1.70), you should be able to side load it and have it work. I have a version that works on my Mi Box (Android TV version), and aside from some scaling issues, it works.
I wouldn't expect anything out of the Mi Box other than what you've already got.
Probably not. Mi Box is an all but forgotten device at this point, but still by far the best deal for AndroidTV.
