Depends on your setup (Mibox for example shows cursor from apps, but you can't really "select"). Have you tried the app for Android TV or CetusPlay to control from you phone? There's also a nice app I use called "Mouse Toggle for Android TV" which works.
Or am I misunderstanding your question?
I've used a minix m1 before and it was fine.
Too bad Nvidia took out the ability to use the right thumbstick as a mouse on the shield controller.
I don't know about apps but I believe air remotes work with AndroidTV. I'm not 100% though because AndroidTV doesn't need a mouse unless you sideload phone apps.
