Google duo on shield Tv with C920 webcam

by hillman45810

I sideloaded google duo to my shield tv, set up was easy. Using a Logitech C920 as a webcam setup was also easy. Drivers were already installed. Sideloaded set orientation app to force duo into landscape, also easy setup. Tested and works like a charm.

One thing that bothers me is answering calls.. you need to swipe up.. which means you need to use the android remote app to answer and swipe or a mouse. Anyone know of any apps that can auto swipe up or disabled gestures on certain apps. Maybe I am missing a hidden setting somewhere. Thanks

Does Android TV have anything under accessibility that may help with this?

Try using tellybean for video calls, works well

There is a new video app called ring that does video calls also.

I wonder if Tasker could do something like this? Anyone have insight?

Thanks for sharing this. If you have a minute, could you please share which orientation app you used, how you sideloaded it, and how you set up Tasker/Autoinput to do the automatic swipe up? I just got a C922 on sale and will like to set it up to use on my shield TV like you did. Thanks!

Did you manage to get audio from the other party? For me, video is working in both directions, the called party can hear my voice, but I hear nothing.
