Best Mi Box ethernet adapter as of now? (Nougat)

by joq3

Hi,

A while ago I read a few posts about ethernet adapters for the Mi Box. Since then the Nougat beta is out. Has there been any fixes? Which adapter works best right now, running beta 1028? With no problems loosing connection or having to reboot. And with no problems after device has been sleeping and waking up?

And which adapter gives me the best speed?

Is it the official Xiaomi ethernet adapter that is the best and most reliable?

Thank you!

When I had a MiBox I bought this one
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Network-Adapter-Ethernet-1000Mbps/dp/B00LLUEJFU

Worked great and is external powered (not required for just Ethernet) so the USB hub will work great too.

How is the J5 Create JUE130? It seems to use the same chipset as the UGreen 3.0 Hub. But it is available locally. Has anyone tried this one?

If anyone has the JUE130 or UGreen 3.0, can you tell me the speed you get out of it and if it works flawlessly even after waking the device from sleep? And How it works on Nougat beta 1028? Better or worse than MM?

I got the official Xiaomi adapter and it has been rock solid, which I'd expect. You can get them for about $10 new w/ free shipping on eBay if you don't mind waiting a couple of weeks for it to work its way from China to where you are.

I bought the J5 Create JUE130, which uses the AX88179 chipset, same as the UGreen. But I only get 90 mbit up and down with this adapter. But when I use Wi-fi i get 220 mbit down and 150 mbit up. How is this possible?

Somebody knows if the ugreen need the external power to avoid to disconnect when the device goes to sleep, or not?

How did you update it to Nougat? Would you recommend the adapter you've bought?

I bought an Orico 3 Port USB + Ethernet adapter for mine. It's a USB3 / Gigabit adapter but the Mi Box only has USB2.0 so it only connects at 100Mbit. Does work really well though even with all three USB ports occupied with USB sticks.
