Android O Update

by papagoose3

Has there been any recent word on when Android O will be rolling out

I have and android o on my nexus player and the new interface is so fugly I can't even explain it I have no idea why Google had to ruin the lean back interface that was so nice. If I could I would go back to 7.0

Is there a way to disable updates or at least hide the update notification so that I don't install it accidentally? (I own the Shield TV)

I don't care, I'll stay on Nougat now since I have seen the new launcher and it's absolutely terrible.

Nvidia could salvage this and design their own launcher while making it as close to the original leanback as possible.

Being the OEM and android being open source id say this is entirely possible.

I am not looking forward to it. I really dont like the new interface. I unhooked my nexus player and started using the FireTV i have a lot more. Shield is still my the streamer in my primary room but that may change if it gets the update

You won't know this till until it's ready to release. January/February at the earliest.

Someone posted they were testing it. Anyone's guess how long it will take to work out the issues. My guess is March.

Depends what device you're using.

Be careful what you wish for.

First versions of anything new should be approached with caution on any Hardware platform.

The Android O GUI is a disliked POS by all user accounts.
