Just a quick FYI. On the stock build, my generic USB 3 adapter wouldn't hold down a connection for more than a couple minutes. After updating to 1028, its been on for 3 days straight with no problems.
So anyone having problems with this, I'd try that build out.
Yea I updated to Android 7.0 beta 1028. Initially I had some issues but after a factory reset and cache wipe, this build is running just awesome now. It feels "done" to me. Running Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, ESPN, Kodi, RetroArch, Chrome Cast, etc. all good.
When does it come out? I don't like installing beta software

Pure coincidence. In the update to 1028 you triggered a factory reset. That was the all the remediation your adapter needed.
Mine has been rock solid after updating to Nougat beta. Used to flake out every week or so on 6.0.
