LeEco Super 4 X55 Android TV - MHL problems?

by jackmcw

Hey everybody, I've had the LeEco Super 4 X55 w/ Android TV for a few months now, and it's a pretty great TV, especially for $350 (worth getting it even though LeEco is hemorrhaging), and I like that it has MHL, letting it turn on when I turn on my PS4, control the PS4 menus with the remote, etc, but an issue that bugs me is that when I use the PS4 with MHL on and I press the PS button, it tries to "switch" the tv input to that of the PS4, even if it's already on it. If I had to guess, it seems like with MHL, the home button is programmed to bring the TV's attention to the PS4, but the TV is not realizing it's already on the PS4 input. Is there any way to fix this, either on the PS4 or TV, without turning MHL completely off?

I have MHL problems with my Nvidia Shield and this TV too. Tried better HDMI cables, different ports, etc. I now just restart the Shield or forget about using the MHL features if they aren't working on a particular day.

I also turned off any sleep/wake from sleep features on the LeEco since a complete power cycle of the TV seems to help.

Pretty sure I found a solution to this, and I'll post it in case anyone else has this issue in the future, though that would surprise me. Problem was I had PS4 connected to ARC port rather than MHL one, which, I didn't realize there were different ones (because I didn't know there was a difference). That seems to fix it - home button brings focus to PS4 but doesn't keep trying to "switch" to it.

My question has nothing to do with your original question. I just received this TV from a seller on eBay. The damn thing is bent: https://imgur.com/a/PdW8f .

Is your tv bent? The image still looks fine with some slight light bleed but only visible in certain areas when TV is completely black but turned on. The bottom right corner has the most notable bleed.
