I'm using Kodi to access the files on my computer and it acts as if I turned the PC off in the middle of playing a movie! (wifi shows I'm still connected)
And if I try to access the files on my tablet or using my TV native function, no problem at all.
Use a wired USB 3 ethernet adapter if possible. Also updating to beta build 1028 fixed a lot of my connection issues.
I'm having the same issue on my Shield TV. Randomly just lose internet/local netowrk. A reboot always fixes the issue but it always occurs again. Happens a lot when I'm on the Live Channels app.

I think the root cause is that the Mi box loses a lot of packet which cause sometimes network disconnection. I face the same problem with wifi and rj45 connection.
Kodi 17.6 works great on mine. Consider putting Android 7.0 beta 1028 on yours it's a great build once you factory reset & wipe cache after updating.
I saw similar problems over the last week which was eventually traced to the Live Channels app creating several thousand UDP connections until there were no more ports left.
