[Update] Looks like all the Nintendo games coming to Nvidia SHIELD are Native after all :D . It was just a mistake on the site moderator

After some digging in Nvidia SHIELD Android TV's China site, I found out none of the Nintendo Wii title that are coming to SHIELD are native. Rather they will all be streamed by Greforce Now!!

This is an error according to an Nvidia employee, see https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/7hoe1y/comment/dqto4qi

The games have been recompiled for Shield.

I guess it makes sense to enter the Chinese market with something that can't just be cracked and sold on any other tablet.

That sucks, I really wanted to play twilight princess

Well, that's over with.

Pages dead today. The mystery continues...

I'm guessing those pages are a mistake since they didn't announce geforce now in china. Look at the rest of the site, no mention of geforce now.

ShortFuse

Maybe, but also maybe not.

Each Wii game is ~$10 while GeForce Now is a monthly subscription service. Paying for the game for it have to be streamed would be new to GeForce Now.

Also, the Nintendo games and Paladin 5 aren't listed as streaming on their list .

Edit: GeForce Now streamed games can be paid, so there goes that argument. But the official English PR release says the games are downloadable.

SHIELD owners in China will be able to download and play select Wii and Nintendo GameCube titles

Fast twitch platforming in Mario via streaming? Nope.

Most interesting in this though is that I'm guessing it's not streaming natively from a Wii, it's more likely coming from a pc. Which means emulation. Wonder what the Dolphin guys are making of this?

Look on the pages again, they changed it. Now it says AndroidTV instead of geforce now!
