Mi Box MDZ-16-AB running Android TV 7.0 1028 Beta needs consistent rebooting or will become basically unusable

by hoochnuts

I'm just wondering if it's normal that I need to reboot the Mi Box after leaving it on for a few hours of doing nothing. It's almost like it's running some background processes that only initiate after being dormant for a while but I can't seem to find anything running.

Any ideas would be appreciated and should you need any more information then please just ask.

Thank you.

Edit: Seems to be solved with a factory reset. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I've been running this beta for months & never had that problem.

After you upgraded to the beta, did you then do a full factory reset? If not, do it.

Disable the Live Channels App.

Beta 1028 works great for me in pretty much everything I've done with it. Maybe try going to recovery and wiping cache?

Use Nougat build v.924 - that is more stable than 1028 Beta:

This is why I won't load any of the nougat betas. I like being able to use my streaming services and my TV. I don't want to wake up one day and have issues because a beta broke something.

I'm just waiting for the final to be released.. until then I'm fine with marshmallow.

try restoring to factory default one or two times.. it fixes many issues..
