Um... Netflix worked just fine with DD on my Sony TV, why wouldn't it work on a MiBox/Shield?
Yeah, no way to output regular dd using mibox, the hdmi to digital audio does not work either so the only option is to update HT
Hmmm. I always thought this was the setup I am currently using with the Mibox. I have the Mibox going HDMI to my TV and then optical from the TV to a Philips HTIB system. I have no issues getting 5.1 sound from the Mibox but I did from Roku devices. I assumed this was because the Mibox was able to send a standard DD signal to the TV whereas the Roku always sends DD+. Based on this thread though, it seems my Sharp TV must be doing the work but I wonder why I could never get it to work with a Roku.
Getting a new receiver is the right choice.
