Prevent Kodi from being killed when switching apps (x-post r/MiBox)

Hi guys, I guess some of you faced the same issue. I'm using a MiTV 60" (basically it's an Android TV and a MiBox too) and when switching to another app leaving Kodi (Jarvis) in background, going back to Kodi after just less than 20s Kodi starts from scratch: it has either been killed by Android or something in Kodi detected it was no longer in focus and autoclosed it (never sent that behavior using Kodi before). Does anybody have a hint? Any settings involved? Thx

I know with my mi box it never closes even when the box sleeps, that was in nougat 7 beta. I think you can set a maximum background processes, that may kill it. It may also be a doze feature that kills processes using X amount of ram. I'm also assuming you're on nougat not marshmallow, which could change things as well
