Someone told me months ago that the Prime Video app that is on the Sony Android TVs was working on their Mi Box. I am not sure if it was fully supported, but they said they could watch content.

Honestly there's no real reason not to get the shield. There aren't really any other android TV boxes better, and although it's expensive, not much more than the other options.
The better question is, aside from the Grand Tour, has there been anything released on Prime Video worth a damn in a while? Every time I look its the same old stuff from a year ago. Meanwhile, when I look at Netflix I get consistent quality original shows on a regular basis. Amazon needs to step it up. They were doing good for a while.
My MI Box (6.0.1) does... Though I can't test it with anything like 4k or HDR since my TV is just too old for this.
I use the Prime Video app on my LG TV. The play store on the Mi Box wont show me a result and the Play store website says it's incompatible. I'm going to try sideloading the APK linked in this thread in the meantime.

Supposedly, if you're running the Mi Box 6.0 OS, Prime Video from the Play Store installs/functions just fine from what I read on here sometime ago..?
Wouldn't know for sure & wasn't ever able to try first hand as I have a Shield Pro & my SO has her Mi Box on a 7.0 beta.
